Management and Staff
David and Ruth Carey
David was born in Northern California, but has always felt that McCall was his home. From the age of 7, he has spent nearly every summer and winter vacation living and working here. After gaining a degree in International Relations and Economics from Boston University, David then lived in England for 9 years. He worked as a manager in 5 star luxury hotels in London, gaining an understanding of many aspects of the service industry. Ruth has a degree in English from University College London and before moving to McCall worked as a personal assistant in the film industry – firstly for director Sam Mendes and then for the actress, Kate Winslet. David and Ruth moved to McCall in 2004 and are now the proud parents of two McCall little ones.
David oversees operations at Jug Mountain, and is involved in all elements of the community. Watch out for him driving the Jug Mountain Pinzgauers around town. Ruth has a range of jobs and particularly enjoys working with the homeowners. They are both thrilled to be living in such a beautiful part of the world and to be working on such an exciting project.
Dustin Ames, Head Golf Professional
Dustin has over 20 years of experience in the golf industry and has dedicated the past decade to teaching, club fitting, and delivering the exceptional golfing experience. He is in the final stages of completing his PGA Professional Golf Management Program and comes to us from Crane Creek Country Club, Boise, where he worked as an Assistant Golf Professional for 4 years. Dustin and his wife, Maria, are raising their young family in Idaho, after moving here from Oregon in 2006. They are honored to join the Jug Mountain team and are excited about the opportunities that await their family in McCall.
Heather Thiry, Mountain Bike Manager
Heather is a native Idahoan, who has always loved the outdoors. Heather began road and mountain bike racing shortly after college. When Heather is not designing, building, instructing, or riding the trails at Jug Mountain, she is also an EMT paramedic. During the winter, Heather works as a ski patroller and backcountry ski guide. She races competitively & recently won first place at the Moab Enduro Cup whilst wearing her Jug Mountain Ranch jersey! We’ll be eagerly watching her progress as she travels to Sun Valley and The Canyons this season for more of the Enduro Cup and then heads to the 24 hour nationals in New Mexico. Good luck Heather!
